Country of Origin:

Sweden.

History:

The Drever is an ancient breed originating from Sweden and was developed by crossing Swedish hound breeds with the Westphalian Basset and possibly the Dachschund. This breed gained official recognition with the Swedish Kennel Club in 1947. In 1953, the first breed standard was established and the Drever was also officially recognized by the FCI. This breed is relatively rare outside of Sweden.
