Great variety = 30-35 kg. Small variety = 25 kg.
Height:
Great variety = 60-70 cm. Small variety = 48-56 cm.
Color(s):
Standard colourings include white and black, white and orange, and tricolour.
Coat:
The Anglo-French Hound has a short, smooth coat that lies close to the body and is quite thick.

Character:
Fast and courageous, Anglo-French Hounds are very energetic. While they can be somewhat reserved in manner, these dogs make great companions.
Country of Origin:
France.
History:
This breed was developed by crossing English hounds with French hounds, likely beginning during the sixteenth century. By the late 1800's, Anglo-French Hounds were highly prized for their exceptional hunting abilities. Now, these dogs are typically used in packs to hunt large game and come in two different varieties -- the Great Anglo-French Hound and the Small Game Anglo-French Hound.

This breed is also known as the Chien Anglo-Français.
Temperament:
Anglo-French Hounds are hardy and tenacious dogs. They are working dogs and particularly love to hunt. Anglo-French Hounds do well with both other dogs and with children.

Training:
Anglo-French Hounds are obedient dogs and can be trained quite easily.
Activity:
These dogs are active animals and require regular exercise.
Ownership:
Anglo-French Hounds are not suitable for apartment or city living. They require plenty of space as well as regular exercise. Anglo-French Hounds are working dogs and love to hunt. Ideally, these dogs are kept in large numbers in kennels and are used as a pack for hunting. Anglo-French Hounds require regular grooming and it's important to pay special attention to their ear care.
