History:
This breed has been present in Poland since at least the 13th century and likely descended from the Asian Greyhound. Used for hunting a variety of prey in the harsh climate of its native land, this breed has been mentioned and depicted in works of literature and art throughout Poland's history. The general appearance of the Polish Greyhound has, for the most part, remained unchanged over time.
