Weight:

Standard female Labradoodles weigh 45-60 pounds while standard male Labradoodles weigh 55-77 pounds.

Height:

Standard Labradoodles are approximately 23-26 inches in height.

Color(s):

Labradoodles come in a variety of different colours such as silver, red, chocolate, black, apricot, and gold.

Coat:

The Labradoodle, depending upon its breeding, either has a Fleece coat or a Wool Curly coat. Both coats are non-shedding and hypoallergenic.

Labradoodles are intelligent and intuitive dogs that generally love water and swimming. Sociable and friendly, these energetic animals are wonderful companions and excellent assistance dogs.

History:

The Labradoodle is a hybrid dog created by crossbreeding a Labrador Retriever with a Poodle. The first deliberately bred dog of this kind belonged to Wally Conron, an Australian dog breeder. Although not currently recognized by any of the major kennel clubs, the Labradoodle is a distinct breed of its own.

Name:

The name "Labradoodle" is a combination of the names "Labrador" and "Poodle."

Temperament:

While the Labradoodle temperament varies from dog to dog, these animals are typically non-aggressive and very trainable. Labradoodles are excellent with children and families.


Care

Training:

These highly intelligent dogs are very trainable and perform well as guide dogs and as other types of assistance dogs.

Activity:

Labradoodles are active dogs that require plenty of regular exercise.

Ownership:

Labradoodles have wonderful personalities and make excellent family companions. With their non-shedding, hypo-allergenic coats, these dogs are a great choice for people with allergies. Labradoodles come in three varieties (standard, medium, and miniature) and have an average life span of approximately 13 to 15 years.
