The Fawn Brittany Basset is a long-standing breed that descended from ancient scenthounds and was developed in France for hunting. In 1921, the first breed standard for the Fawn Brittany Basset was created and the popularity of these dogs has continued to increase over the years.

This breed is also known as the Basset Fauve de Bretagne.

Fawn Brittany Bassets are strong-willed and stubborn hounds. However, they also have a very calm disposition.
